Conference time. . . 

I woke up this morning to the insane news that America has elected a screaming racist as their next president. Blimey, didn’t see that one coming. Conversely, I could have very easily predicted that the train to take me across the Pennines to the student conference in Manchester would be late. I naturally got to the station early and now have an hour to wait, assuming it doesn’t start running even later. This is why people don’t use public transport if possible; over priced and poorly delivered. My feet are cold.  Oh well, I have a book to read and a steaming cup of tea to keep me going until a train turns up. I’m going to maintain the assumption that this will all be very worth it, once I’ve thawed out. . .

Gadgets! 

I’ve just bought a dictaphone to help me keep track of the interviews I plan to be using for my dissertation research. Half past 1 in the morning and I can shop from the comfort of my bed. I’m not really a gadget geek, but I am looking forward to getting my new toy and having a play…
